A Garden Designed for Diane and Barry

Every garden tells a story, shaped by the people who use it and the way they want to live outdoors. This project, for Diane and Barry, was about creating a space that felt calm, practical and welcoming — a garden that could be enjoyed day to day, as well as shared with friends and family.

This new build in Tunbridge Wells was sold with a very basic garden and small terrace. It suffered from lack of privacy and zero planting areas. With this scheme we gave a retired couple a pleasant design, incorporating raised beds, a central water feature, larger entertaining terrace, surrounded by cedar trellising and lighting. A new bespoke cedar planter was also designed and built for the main terrace.
Projects like this highlight the value of thoughtful garden design. When layout, materials and planting are considered together, the result is a space that feels natural, well-proportioned and suited to everyday living.
