A garden worth keeping

Year-round gardening services and care in Tunbridge Wells, from courtyard gardens to country estates

Your garden does not stay beautiful on its own. It needs consistent, knowledgeable care from someone who understands its particular character, knows what was planted where and remembers what happened last season.

Our garden maintenance service is built around that kind of continuity. We match each garden with a dedicated gardener who takes genuine ownership of the space, supported by the wider Gardenproud team when specialist input is needed.

We currently look after more than 60 gardens in the Tunbridge Wells area, from compact courtyard gardens to large country estates. Serving Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding villages including Southborough, Pembury and Tonbridge

How it works

Getting to know your garden

We start with a visit to talk through what your garden needs – its size, its complexity, your own involvement and your goals for it. We will discuss what has worked in the past, what hasn’t, and whether you have other gardeners already involved in specific tasks.

You are welcome to work alongside us, to be as hands-on or hands-off as you like. We adapt to you, not the other way around.

An agreed maintenance plan

Based on that conversation, we put together a maintenance plan that sets out what we will do, how often and at what cost. We work to an annual schedule, adjusting it as the seasons change and as the garden develops.

Our gardeners are encouraged to take real ownership of the spaces they look after. They build up knowledge of each garden over time, spot problems early and use their initiative to keep things on track between visits.

Specialist support when you need it

Our maintenance team is backed by a wider network of specialists – tree surgeons, hedge cutting and topiary experts, lawn care professionals, pest control technicians and licensed sprayers. When a job requires a specialist, we bring one in. You don’t have to find them yourself.

We also run a shared knowledge base and active WhatsApp group across all our gardeners, so unusual plant problems get multiple eyes on them quickly. Our gardeners are supported to undertake further training and qualifications as their careers progress.

FAQS

How does your maintenance service work?

We start with a visit to understand your garden and agree a maintenance plan. We then assign a dedicated gardener who visits on an agreed regular basis, weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on what your garden needs. Your gardener builds up detailed knowledge of your space over time and takes real ownership of keeping it in good shape.

Do I have to commit to a long-term contract?

We ask for a reasonable period of commitment to allow your gardener to get to know the garden properly – ideally a minimum of three months with a month’s notice of any desire to change or terminate. Beyond that, we are flexible. Most of our maintenance clients stay with us for years because they value the continuity and the relationship.

Can you maintain a garden you did not design or build?

Yes. We look after many gardens that were designed and built by others. If you have an existing garden that needs regular professional care, we are happy to take it on.

What happens if my regular gardener is unwell or on holiday?

We cover absences from within the Gardenproud team. Your garden won’t be left without care if your regular gardener can’t attend for any extended period. We aim to send someone who has worked in your garden before wherever possible.
