Great gardens do not happen by accident. They take thoughtful design, skilled construction and the kind of ongoing care that only comes from people who genuinely love what they do.
Gardenproud was founded in Tunbridge Wells in 2007 by Tim Sykes – a former advertising man with a distinction from Hadlow College and a pre-registered membership of the Society of Garden Designers. In the years since, the company has grown into a full-service garden design, landscaping and maintenance team, caring for gardens across Kent, East Sussex, Surrey, London and Hertfordshire.
We are a BALI accredited company. Our design and construction projects typically range from £15,000 to £250,000. Our maintenance team currently looks after more than 60 gardens, from compact courtyards to large country estates.
George
Construction Director
George brings over 15 years of hands-on landscaping experience to Gardenproud. He has managed and built gardens across the UK and internationally, including a period in Sydney working with Wyer & Co – one of Australia’s most respected garden design practices.
As Construction Director, George leads our build projects from the ground up. His eye for craftsmanship and his ability to manage complex, multi-trade projects without hiccups makes him the person our clients trust to bring their designs to life.
Tim
Creative Director
Tim founded Gardenproud after a successful career in advertising – bringing the same eye for detail, storytelling instinct and creative discipline to garden design that he had spent years applying to brands.
He holds a distinction from Hadlow College and is a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers. Tim leads the design process on many of our projects, from the initial brief through to the finished concept. He is endlessly curious about materials, plants and the relationship between a garden and the house and people it belongs to.
Henry
HEAD OF MEDIA
Henry manages Gardenproud’s digital presence and visual identity. He combines a sharp design sensibility with advanced marketing knowledge – producing our photography, video content, drone footage, brochures and advertising.
He also co-ordinates a support team of specialist photographers, designers and renderers to ensure that how Gardenproud looks online reflects the quality of what we do on the ground.
Sarah
Company Secretary
Sarah is a co-founder of Gardenproud and a qualified Company Secretary with a background in Business Studies from Newcastle. She keeps the business running smoothly behind the scenes – providing financial oversight, sounding out new ideas and making sure our standards stay consistently high.
Her calm, practical approach is one of the reasons Gardenproud has grown steadily and sustainably over nearly two decades.
Our credentials
We hold accreditation from the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) and are pre-registered members of the Society of Garden Designers (SGLD) – the first step to becoming accredited by the society as a professional garden designer. Our teams work to current Health & Safety guidelines across all projects, and every member of staff is fully trained and insured.

Where are you based and which areas do you cover?
We are based in Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent. Our design and construction projects take us across Kent, East Sussex, Surrey, South East London and Hertfordshire. Our maintenance team primarily serves gardens within the Tunbridge Wells area and surrounding villages, though we are always happy to discuss your location if you are nearby.
